By now we have all heard that Mother Nature is about to give us some nasty weather.

The National Weather Service has advised that our area is expected to have blizzard conditions with snow fall starting around 7pm tonight and continuing until Saturday 7pm. Wind gusts could be up to 50mph with snow accumulation of 8” to 15”.

Our Public Works staff will be maintaining our roads. Residents are reminded that all vehicles must be removed from the streets to facilitate snow removal and salting activities. Vehicles should remain off the streets until snow plowing and salting is completed. Any vehicles that remain on the street may be ticketed and removed.

Any loss of power or downed electrical wires should be reported to Jersey Central Power & Light at
1-888-544-4877 or clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.

JCP&L reminds customers to stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity.  Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris.  Motorists are cautioned to treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.

Thank you for your cooperation.
