The annual Phillies Home Run Derby is this Sunday, May 18th, at the baseball field at Joseph Robertson Park (Allaire Road fields).

This free event is run by Mr. Paul Bradley from the Philadelphia Phillies. It is an annual highlight for our league. It is a lot of fun, and Paul does a really great job with the kids. The shack and grill will be open.

Girls compete at the age they were on 1/1/25

Boys compete at the age they were on 5/1/25

The schedule is as follows:

  • 9 am – 9:20 am: 7-8 year old girls
  • 9:20 am – 9:40 am: 9-10 year old girls
  • 9:40 am – 10:am: 11-12 year old girls
  • 10:15 am – 11:00 am: 7-8 year old boys
  • 11:00 am – 11:45 am: 9-10 year old boys
  • 11:45 pm – 12:30 pm: 11-12 year old boys

There will be awards for the top three finishers per division and prizes for all.  The top three finishers will advance to the regional Finals, which will also be held at our ballpark.  All participants will get prizes.

Please note: a “Home Run” is a different distance for each age group, and the pitches are delivered by a pitching machine at age-appropriate speeds. We will have announcers who will announce each kid’s name and the scores.

It is a great time and my favorite day of the season.

Please make plans to bring your daughters and sons out for this. Please arrive at least thirty minutes before your scheduled start time to complete the registration form.
