BE ADVISED that Spring Lake Heights residents who have experienced economic hardship during COVID-19 and who are behind on their utility payments may be eligible to enter into an agreement whereby the resident agrees to pay their arrearages in installments over a period of 12 months’ time.  The agreement must be submitted by April 18, 2022.

As part of the agreement, the resident must keep up to date on all other charges. For more information on repaying arrearages in installments, please contact Mary Ellen Karamus at taxcollector@springlakehts.com  or 732-449-3500.

New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Low Income Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)
The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is offered to provide the citizens of NJ the ability to apply for debt relief of their water and sewer utilities.

The application period for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Low Income Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is now open. This federally funded program will provide financial assistance to low-income households to reduce the balances on their residential water and sewer bills. LIHWAP will provide benefits directly to water and sewer service providers on behalf of residential customers.

To be eligible for LIHWAP assistance, applicants must be water/sewer bill holders who are responsible for paying their water and sewer bills directly to the water/sewer provider. Link to the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) FAQs, this page has information about how to apply, maximum income limits and program details.
